One evening we were leaving the hotel for dinner and there was a sign on the gate warning us
that it’s a festival day and celebrations could go on until the early hours (and did).
But there were ear plugs available in reception! More

One indication of the hospitality of the island & the hotel: in Santorini & Paros, hotels arrange for your 3rd-party pickup for 25-30€, an outrageous sum for 10-minute drives (my only major complaint). The little (main) town of Hora is 1-2 minutes away. (Note: There’s a town named Hora-& pronounced Chora-on many Greek islands.) the cliffside lookout of the sea & other islands is the first place you reach. I never did check it out at sunset . . .There are 6-8 terrific restaurants “in town,” tho’ it’s really not a town. More a village. Some have more traditional Greek emphasis, some focus more on Seafood.
Surprisingly the restaurants & specialty shops (charming, creative merchandise) are open til midnight. I went to the Gelato store at 11:30 pm.
While the hotel serves a good breakfast (til 11am!) there are a number of cafes with great breakfasts & lunches nearby.
My only suggestions are minor & don’t detract from a solid 5*. First, I would add a night light in the bathroom. While the (main) bedroom has many light variations, the bathroom has only one night one. Second, while the little bottles of shampoo, cream, etc. are attractive, they generate a lot of throwaway plastic bottles. More & more hotels are putting attractive & refillable dispensers in the shower. Helps the environment. Finally, you may want to check ferry schedules when you plan your trip. While nearby Santorini is reached easily, my only ferry to Paros was a 7-hr trip on a hi-speed boat that made 6 stops along the way. The day before I could have gone far more cheaply on a slower boat that took only 3 hrs-only one stop.
If you want to “step out of the fast lane” (of life) for a few days (or weeks?), Polikandia on Folegandros is the answer. Combining it with a visit to Santorini provides a sweet balance. More
